Farm Bureau Gives Back $5M to Members
As part of its statewide “We’re in This Together” initiative, Farm Bureau Insurance is giving back more than $5 million to its members across the state of Michigan. This is part of an effort to support local business communities during COVID-19.
“In this unprecedented time, Farm Bureau’s We’re in this Together program is one part of our ongoing efforts to give back to our members as we weather the COVID-19 crisis together,” Farm Bureau CEO Don Simon said in a news release. “We’re proud to support our members as they invest in local restaurants across Michigan.”
The initiative is designed to give back to Farm Bureau members and local communities several ways, including:
- Give back to members: More than 215,000 Farm Bureau members will enjoy a meal on the insurance company at over 1,200 local restaurants.
- Honor first responders:Farm Bureau will fund an additional 18,000 meals — 15 at each of the 1,200 restaurants — specifically for first responders.
- Invest in local business:Many of the company’s farmer members supply food to restaurants across the state.
This $5.4 million initiative is just one part of Farm Bureau’s overall We’re in this Together effort and follows quickly on the heels of the Farm Bureau Family of Companies Million Meal Challenge, which funded 1.1 million meals through the seven food banks across Michigan for children and families honoring the stay home, stay safe effort.
The new undertaking rolled out April 17. For more information on Farm Bureau’s We’re in This Together initiative, contact Jen Miller (517) 679-4725.
