MSUFCU Branch headed to Berkley

Giving back is among the core values at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU). Perhaps that attention to community is what allows the credit union to see continued growth through the years.

Recently, MSUFCU board members and management announced a new branch at 1833 Coolidge Highway in Berkley slated for a fall 2019 opening. It will offer a full range of financial products like mortgages and business services, along with drive-up tellers and a 24-hour ATM.

“The decision to continue expansion with a fifth location in Oakland County is part of our long-term growth strategy to better serve our existing and potential members,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU president and CEO. “We are looking forward to joining the Berkley community and helping members achieve their dreams.”

The new location in Berkley will be the fifth MSUFCU branch in Oakland County and the 19thfor the credit union overall. The addition is expected to allow the financial institution to serve a larger portion of its members residing in the area as well as with new prospective members.

MSUFCU was founded in 1937 and is owned and operated by members of the Michigan State University and Oakland University communities. It has been recognized as a Best Workplace for Women by Fortune Magazine, an Outstanding Credit Union of the Year by the Michigan Credit Union League, Michigan’s Best and Brightest in Wellness and has been nationally recognized for its financial education initiatives.

The credit union has also kept up with technology with its mobile app available to all customers as well as its online youth accounts and youth stores.

MSUFCU is incredibly community oriented, sponsoring annual events like ePIFany Now’s annual Y-PIF Awards, putting on the MSUFCU Art Exhibit and recognizing the talents of youth, and a vast array of other community events and outreach like its annual Kids’ Day and financial contributions to several causes.
