EATON RAPIDS MEDICAL CENTER COLLABORATES WITH GREATER MCLAREN LANSING TO EXPAND CARDIOLOGY OFFERINGS
Expanded cardiovascular services and a comprehensive heart station at Eaton Rapids Medical Center will be among the benefits of a new collaboration recently announced between the hospital and cardiologists from McLaren Greater Lansing.
“The entire community has embraced our physicians and physician assistants being a part of Eaton Rapids Medical Center for a long time,” said Dr. Ibrahim Shaw, a cardiologist with McLaren Cardiovascular Group. “It is an honor to be able to expand services to care for even more of the Eaton Rapids community close to home.”
Along with cardiology consultations, the expanded heart station will consist of a variety of tests and procedures at Eaton Rapids Medical Center, including electrocardiograms, echocardiography, exercise and chemical nuclear stress testing, multi-gated acquisition scans, Holter and event monitor placement and evaluation, pacemaker and defibrillator interrogation, and elective cardioversions. The expanded tests and procedures complement the full array of vascular services already provided at Eaton Rapids Medical Center.
“Access to health care, especially cardiovascular services, is a critical component to creating a healthy community,” said Kirk Ray, president and CEO of McLaren Greater Lansing. “McLaren is proud to partner with Eaton Rapids Medical Center to provide exceptional cardiovascular care right in the Eaton Rapids community.”
President and CEO of Eaton Rapids Medical Center Timothy J. Johnson shared in the pride and optimism.
“The McLaren Cardiovascular Group has provided excellent care at ERMC for several years, and we are happy they are increasing their presence and available services in our specialty clinics,” Johnson said.
McLaren cardiologists will also expand their presence at Eaton Rapids Medical Center, eventually offering five-day-a-week on-site coverage of the hospital’s heart station and 24/7 remote consulting and on-site coverage to care for patients in the emergency department or main hospital.
