MEDC Video Series Features Elevator Interviews with Michigan Innovators
Inspired by Jerry Seinfeld’s popular web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has launched a new video series, Entrepreneurs in Elevators. The quirky approach highlights the state’s strong, entrepreneurial ecosystem, giving viewers a glimpse into the lives of area innovators and what it takes to grow a business.
The MEDC’s entrepreneurship and Innovation initiative positions Michigan as an ideal place to build and grow businesses by providing high-tech startups with an access to a variety of critical resources, such as funding and expert counsel. Entrepreneurs in Elevators will demonstrate how to take advantage of these resources in Michigan.
Hosted by entrepreneur David Ollila, president and chief innovation officer of Skypoint Ventures, a Flint-based venture capital firm, the series launches with four videos featuring entrepreneurs from across the state.
“For decades, I’ve been living and working within this growing entrepreneurial ecosystem that is fostering passionate innovators as they develop new ideas, products and opportunities for themselves and others,” Ollila said. “The Entrepreneurs in Elevators series is a unique platform to share those stories and hopefully inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in the state. Plus, is there any better place to hear a business’s elevator pitches? We think not”.
New episodes set in Detroit, Flint, Bay City and Lansing will launch in December. Watch Entrepreneurs in Elevators at www.michiganbusiness.org/start-up/entrepreneurs-in-elevators.
