GLCVB Recognized with Community Awards

The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) is pleased to announce the organization and a member of its staff were recently honored with three awards; one from the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) and two from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.

Last month, at the MSAE Association Choice Awards held at the East Lansing Marriott at University Place, the GLCVB was named ‘Best Large CVB’ by the association’s membership. “It’s always an honor to win an award,” said GLCVB President and CEO Jack Schripsema. “But it’s particularly satisfying to win an award that is voted on by our many valued association clients across the state.”

The Michigan Society of Association Executives has a membership of over 1,000 association professionals and suppliers involved in the management of 400 international, national, state, regional and local associations.

Additionally, at an event held at the University Club of MSU on Dec. 6, the GLCVB was recognized by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing with the 2016 Business Leadership Award. The honor was given in recognition of the GLCVB’s long term support for the work of the Arts Council and the GLCVB’s promotion of arts and culture in the community.

Julie Pingston, CMP, CTA, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with the GLCVB, received individual recognition at the event as recipient of the 2016 Ted Sondag Individual Leadership Award for her dedication and support of the growth of arts and culture in Greater Lansing.

“We at the Greater Lansing CVB are extremely proud of our footprint in the community,” said Schripsema. “And certainly the work and dedication of Julie Pingston is a key asset and a point of pride for our organization.”
