Uncle John’s Cider MIll Recognized for Hard Cider Tasting Room

Uncle John’s Cider Mill was recently recognized by CIDERCRAFT Magazine as one of seven most scenic cider tasting rooms in the country. This family-friendly orchard and farm boasts 180 acres of rolling hills, lush fruit trees, berries and pumpkin patches, and corn fields in St. Johns, Mich. for visitors from across Michigan to enjoy.

Operating as both a cider mill and bakery since the late 1970s, Uncle John’s is based in the iconic barn that bears its name, which has been on the family farm for over 100 years. The multigenerational family-owned farmstead — originally operating as a wholesale fruit and vegetable farm — has since been repurposed as an orchard, cider mill and the Fruit House Winery and Cidery tasting room.

Uncle John’s started making hard cider in 2003, using heirloom apples and fruit blends like pear-apple and apple-cherry. The brand, Uncle John’s Hard Cider, is available in cans, bottles and mini kegs. The cider and wine tasting room utilizes a similarly family-oriented approach toward all that enter offering a wide variety of Uncle John’s ciders and wines to sample and purchase.
