Chick-fil-A Comes to Lansing

Chick-fil-A, an Atlanta-based fast food chain known for its classic Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches, has been around since the early 1960’s when Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant. Many Lansing residents love the restaurant, mainly trying it during road trips across the U.S.

On Tuesday, April 19 Chick-fil-A hosted a press conference and ground breaking ceremony to celebrate the first Chick-fil-A location in Michigan.

“Speaking on behalf of the future workers at this facility that will continue to live and work in this Lansing community, we’re excited about bringing our great food, our warm customer service to you and the rest of the Lansing community,” said Kim McGrady, Michigan business consultant for the chain. In addition to emphasizing that the service and the quality food, he talked about the history of the company.

McGrady confirmed that the Lansing location, as well as a location in the Troy area will be opening in the fall of 2016, but mentioned that they are looking to open more locations in Michigan within the next five years. Prospective locations are Grand Rapids, Detroit Metro and Kalamazoo.

“It took us a while, but we made it,” said McGrady.
